Marko Arnautovic left West Ham United fans extremely confused with a cryptic Instagram post as talks of a lucrative move to China gather pace.The striker has made it clear he wants to move to the Chinese Super League this window, but no bids have matched the Hammers’ 50million valuation of the Austria international.2

Arnautovic could well be off in the not-so distant future

After being left out of the squad to face Bournemouth, Arnautovic returned to training and it transpired the move to the Far East had fallen through.But a cryptic Instagram post by the 29-year-old left many to speculate he could be on his way out of east London before the transfer deadline in six days.Arnautovic wrote: “News coming soon…” on his Instagram story at around 3pm accompanied by just a black screen.2

The teasing by the former Stoke City man left many fans feeling excited as, with Arnautovic gone, a move for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez seems far more likely.The 40m-rated Uruguay international has been touted as a potential replacement for the wantaway striker, with talks still ongoing between both parties. Whatever happens, boss Manuel Pellegrini will have the final say over transfers. If he does allow Arnautovic to leave, it seems unlikely he would not have a replacement lined up already – with Gomez the front runner.Although West Ham felt Celta were demanding too much money for the 22-year-old in the summer, the funds freed up by Arnautovic’s potential departure could see a move sanctioned before next Thursday’s deadline.According to Sky Sports reported Kaveh Solehkol, Gomez is seen as the ‘next Luis Suarez’ after his impressive performances in LaLiga and he has nine goals and five assists for a struggling Celta side.
